Her preferences havechanged as a result of going on the Biggest Loser show.
Running: When she first ran at the Biggest Loser ranch, she started running at 4.7 mph with a minute on the treadmill followed by a minute off. When she returned to Iowa, she kept pushing herself to go further and faster to [boost. Rebecca could only lose weight by continuously pushing herself to improve her speed and time, so that she kept up the fat burning.
Setting Goals: On the first day of Biggest Loser Season 8, Rebecca had a 17 minute mile. She now can run an 8 minute mile as a result of her consistent efforts]. Also, instead of focusing on weight loss after the Biggest Loser show, she has made working out about other goals. She has vowed to run a race in every state before she is 30 in March 2014 30.
Balancing Diet and Exercise: Like everybody else, she has her food vices. Sometimes she continues to eats pepperoni pizza dipped in ranch sauce. However, instead of a couple slices like she used to consume before she went on the Biggest Loser show, she now eats only one slice. Additionally, before and after she eats her one slice, she makes up for the unhealthy food by adding extra time to her workout. She is determined to stay at a size 8 for the rest of her life after a 21 inch loss around her hips while on the Biggest Loser. This is one method to sustain her weight loss. She is also shrinking her belly by doing six pack ab exercises.
Having a Support System: Someone who has become very important to her is Daniel Wright, another contestant on the Biggest Loser. He is her boyfriend now long distance. Rebecca and Daniel call each other daily to discuss food and exercise. She also has contacted family and friends in the community who are health conscious as well as other contestants from the show to keep her on track. While not everyone has the same access to a network, a biggest loser forum can provide a good support network just like Rebecca’s.
Rebecca lost all of her weight by eating healthily, running, setting goals, balancing diet and exercise, and having a support system. She showed that it is possible to lose a great deal of weight at home.
